“Simply Redeemed” Sundays on KLPZ 1380AM There’s a store, there is a store inside your heart. People have come into your store and have left without taking anything, because the product that you are selling is nasty. The product that is found inside your store is filthy; the product that you are offering is of no use to anybody. And one day a gentleman walks in, he looks around. What he does next shocks you! He shocks you because he grabs a shopping cart. He shocks you because he didn’t run away, run away from the things that you are selling. He didn’t run away from the things that you have in inventory. He shocked you because he didn’t walk away like the others have done. But he catches your attention and as a clerk you keep your eye on him. You look and you watch as he walks up and down every isle. And he begins to pick things up out from your shelves, from your store, from your heart and he places it in his shopping cart. Isle after isle you are bewildered, you begin to scratch your head. You find yourself wondering, what is wrong with that gentleman? What is wrong with that man? After a while he makes it to the check out. And he begins to place things on the conveyer belt and you grab the things that were in your store, in your shelves, in your heart, and you begin to scan them. You notice that he has taken up some HATE. The hate that you’ve had for quite some time and you scan it thru and you place it in the bag. You grab for the next product…LUST. The sin that you have in your life of lust…not only has he touched it, but he placed it in his shopping cart. Now you are scanning it. PAIN, CHILDHOOD PAIN, ADDICTIONS, SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS, ATTITUDE, CORRUPTION, SHAME, GUILT, LOW SELF-ESTEEM, GREEDINESS, FEELING OF UNWORTHINESS…have all been scanned. All been bagged up. You look over at the man and he sees the total; he pays it. He pays it with his blood. He pays it with his sacrifice. He pays it with a smile on his face and with a look of compassion…it is now his. As he reaches for his stuff that he has paid for. As he reaches for his merchandise, for his grocery bags...all of a sudden your hands land over his and you begin to struggle with him. And you begin to tell him “I can’t let you take this, because it is my pain, my suffering, my sin, my self-righteousness, my guilt, it is me!” And you continue the struggle. When will you let go? At what point will you look at him and say thank you? When will you say “Thank you because I was enslaved, I was under bondage; I was under so much pressure, because I was so alone. Thank you.” You see God forgives us, He died for us, and he has given us a way of escape. For one reason or another, we don’t want to let go. We don’t want to open up our hands and say “Here I am!” We don’t want to let go and say “God thank you for blessing me, thank you for taking the guilt away. Thank you for healing my mind my body and my soul. Thank you. Thank you for giving me…a second chance.” This morning God wants to forgive you; he wants to be the One to heal your mind, body, and soul. He wants to be the One, the only One. He wants to be your number One, first place in your life. Won’t you knock down those walls? The walls of self-righteousness, of self-dignity, and the façade, the decorated exterior: your outer clothes, the person on the outside. But they don’t know who you are on the inside. They don’t know the pain, the hurt that you carry. Because you have built up an image, an image of class and integrity; but deep inside you are seeking someone to place their arm around you. To let you know that it’s all going to be alright. Won’t you let Him have the things that are tying you to your past? God is the Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever. He will heal your Yesterdays Today. He will secure your Tomorrow Today.
