“Simply the best” 5 of 5 stars Just returned from 2 weeks at these lovely apartments - if you want peace and quiet then this is the place to be. At times it was hard to hear a pin drop!! We stayed in a one bedroom apartment (6) which had the best view over the strait to Ithica. The apartment was in my opinion typically Greek with the largest balcony I have ever seen. Yes, the chairs on the balcony are not the most comfortable but the view is to die for and the shower curtain in the toilet is a typical Greek one but hey ho you are in Greece. The beach at Foki (a 15 minute walk away - turn right at the bottom of the drive) is the most beautiful beach I have ever swam from. The beach is so clean and the water so clear and best or all no load music blaring from the Taverna which is situated on the road just behind the beach. There is plenty of shade on the beach from the Olive trees. If you turn left at the bottom of Kaminakias drive you will find the village, approx 15 minutes walk - these apartments are brilliant as they are situated midway between the beach and the village. We tried a number of tavernas in Fiscardo and the two that came out tops for us was Captain Cabin - reasonably priced food and very friendly waiters/waitress. The other taverna was Roulas Grill which had fabulous meat off the spit - the cost of a meal at both these tavernas for a shared starter and 2 main courses with a bottle of water and a litre of house wine was usually in the region of 35 to 40 Euros. Food in the supermarkets however was in my opinion way over the top with a small loaf of bread at 1.60 Euros, honey for a small jar 4.00 Euros, margarine 2.70 Euros etc etc. We did a couple of the easy walks around Fiscardo and these are very easy to follow and are well marked. We opted for the Marine Experience boat trip with Jamie (Marine Biologist) and this was brilliant - so informative and the snorkelling (I am a beginner) was brilliant - even in the shallows of the bays that we visited I manage to see 5 different types of fish. The main problem however with Kaminakia Apartments is the drive up to the apartments which is steep - however halfway up you will see a basket ball pitch and if you cross this and then go up the steps to the next level it is easier as it gives you the chance to get your breath back!! The only other problems at present is the closure of the fast road to Fiscardo due to rock falls following the earthquakes in January/February - this means that the journey from the airport is taking approximately 2 hours but this does give you a chance the beautiful scenery during transfer. Would I go again to the Kaminakia apartments and Fiscardo - without a doubt yes!!
