Simply urging people to vote.... presumes that they also know who, - TopicsExpress

Simply urging people to vote.... presumes that they also know who, or what, to vote for. I think it would work out better for political activists to presume that most people dont know, and that at the very least, many, if not most, lack critical information.... then begin to invest time and energy into sharing that information. Actions really do speak louder than words... particularly for people who are disenfranchised and are truly tired of -all- the political bs. Early efforts in voter registration of the disenfranchised masses did not take place in town hall meetings and debates. The registration materials were taken to the masses where they were.... in their homes, the fields, the barber shops and churches. Choices were more clear. An informed voter is a powerful voter. A person voting in ignorance is either a pawn, or a loose cannon. I understand the argument for voting for the sake of voting.... but I think voting without purpose is even more asinine and anti-productive than not voting at all. Voting in ignorance, promotes, encourages and sustains the social insanity of political sociopaths. If you want more people to vote... activists should get off their butts and inform them. Registration was only the first step. What is the point of urging people to vote... if they have no idea who or what to vote for... and no concept of the impact their vote could help to make?
