Simulation Exercise: School Based Disaster Risk Management for Siki Primary school, Finchhafen District, Morobe Province. Simulation Exercises/Disaster Drills are vital for communities vulnerable to disasters, given the current increased intensity and frequency of Climate Change Induced disasters affecting communities throughout the country. Siki Primary school and the surrounding communities have gained the necessary knowledge and appropriate skills to respond appropriately to disasters with minus/less loss of life. The above is made possible by World Vision in Partnership with PNG Red Cross who trained the people on First Aid. Credits goes to World Vision, an organization who has the heart to serve people, not only in Finchafen but in other parts of the country. PNG Governments mendated office, The Office of Climate Change and Development (OCCD) through its Adaptation & Projects Division is working closely with communities affected by climate change induced disasters, to help the communities adapt appropriately to the disasters and the changing environment now and in the future. OCCD is gratefull to have program partners like World Vision, International Organization of Migration, Adventist Decelopment & Relief Agency, World Wide Fund for Nature, Wildlife Conservation Society, and numerous other organizations who are working in the communities to help communities adapt to climate change. All in all, climate change is here to stay and will adversely affect our communities, their properties, infrastructure and services. Thus, communities must cooperate with departments, agencies, organizations and individuals dealing with these issues to be prepared to adapt to these changes and respond to disasters. Also, communities must greatly value the knowledge, skills and strategies learnt so that it will safe their lives and that of others. Thanks
