Since 1983 the Reform Movement has recognized those born to a Jewish father but a non-Jewish mother as 100% Jewish, but these Patrilineal Jews arent fully recognized as Jewish by the Conservative and Orthodox. Gwyneth Paltrow is one of them and now shes planning to convert to Judaism. What will this high-profile conversion to Judaism by a Patrilineal Jew mean for the rest of the Jewish community?
