Since 1995, the US Government has given about $2.1 million per DAY (over $8 billion total) of our hard earned money for subsidies to corn syrup and other corn based sweeteners...terribly unhealthy additives which cause obesity, heart disease, diabetes and impaired cognitive function. They then spend billions more telling us these things are unhealthy. After this they spend billions on health care costs to driven by obesity, heart disease, diabetes and impaired cognitive function. Now some believe that the solution is more government control over food and our diet....if only government had even more power they believe they could undo more of the damage they have done. A much better plan would be to get government out of the food business entirely, stop the subsidies and cronyism and wed be a healthier nation.
