Since 1999 when we began our democratic journey in Nigeria to bring about a system that will be beneficial and cater to the needs of Nigerians, corruption has held the country hostage and to almost a standstill. Delta State is not an exception. This canker worm eats deep into the fabric of our Nation almost leaving it lifeless and without hope. Those of us from the Niger Delta were hit hard largely because we are oil producing states, from the oil spills which left our fishing areas and farms useless, took away the livelihood of the people, no clean water, food or development. Seen as an attack on their lives the youth took up arms fighting back the only way they knew how, because those at the herm of power, who were expected to negotiate the wellbeing of the people, failed and abandoned them. NEVER AGAIN.
