Since 2001, I have been blessed, honored to teach on the faculty - TopicsExpress

Since 2001, I have been blessed, honored to teach on the faculty of the Boston Clemente Course in the Humanities in Dorchester, MA. Over the years, more than 200 scholars have graduated from the course, 77% of whom have gone on to further educational opportunities. They are some of the most brilliant and engaged students Ive ever taught. I have also worked alongside some of the most gifted and inspiring teachers Ive ever known--including Ann Murphy (our Writing professor), Julia Legas (our Moral Philosophy professor), Jack Cheng (our Art History professor), and Susan Gorman (our Literature professor). SInce its inception, the Clemente Course has been a unique collaboration between Bard College (which awards college credit to our graduates), Dotwell/Codman Square Health Center (which houses us and supports us with a remarkable staff, including Doreen Treacy and Michelle Rue), and Mass Humanities (which supports us financially and in so many other ways). This year--our 13th year--we are still going strong! Recently, after receiving a major challenge grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Mass Humanities has launched its Inspire Campaign to raise money for transformative programs like the Clemente Course. Please visit masshumanities.org to make a generous donation. But first, please take four minutes and watch this video featuring Clemente graduates Trena Ambroise, Marcus Queen, Ethel Stafford, and Martine Amazan-Lima: https://youtube/watch?v=kWfGxRwc6LU#t=56
