Since Christmas Eve, I have attempted to write a heartfelt post. Each time I end up deleting the post. Words are not easy to express my heart. This past year our family has seen sorrow, joy and miracles. February 15, my 17 year old nephew Brady died in a horrible wreck. And then on September 28, my other 22 year old nephew was involved in a horrible car accident. Zachary suffered major life threatening injuries and a traumatic brain injury. He is now at home and continues to recover. As these two families get used to the new normal, other families continue their holiday traditions as they have is years past. Last year we were the other families. Todd, Cherise and Brady visiting family and friends. Cathy, Paul, Anastasia and Zachary came to Mobile, just like every year for the previous 10 plus years. Never once did anybody think that this year would be so different. Hannah, Tyler, Susan and myself along with my parents were able to go see my sister and her family. What a wonderful and joyous time we had. As I looked at Zachary, I saw a true miracle sitting before me. Its easy to give God glory and praise when our life is easy and going just the way we want it. Its also easy to become angry, bitter and resentful when our world is turned upside down by a tragedy. These two sets of parents have shown how strength, courage and faith have sustained them from day to day. (Cont at a later date)
