Oh I forgot to smile and you can see me crying, was Beatas initial reaction to watching #blamemyparents. She couldnt wait to see it - even without her son Jean Claude who is currently spending his holidays away in Kigali. Claudine, a local social worker with the womens rights NGO Sevota who helped me establish the contact to Jean Claudes family now also helped bring the show to Beata who does not have access to TV! Claudine told me that Beata was very excited and happy to watch #blamemyparents and that she had many questions about the stories of Andrea from Romania and Robin from Germany. Im now keen to hear Jean Claudes reactions to the documentary once he gets back to the village.
