Since FB wont let me send my friend Mara a video privately, that means everyone gets to see it. This is an example of how to build drive through restraint/amping up. The object Im using is a dusty old bone that she passes by multiple times a day. Its more interesting than a rock, but not very high value. Because Ive done work to teach her that whatever I focus on is the fun thing, you can see in my first lackluster throw that shes willing to play with the object Ive deemed worthy. However, the second time around I hold her back while I toss it, verbally amp her up, and them wait until shes focused on it before I release her. If you notice, her drive toward the object is so much stronger that her hind end keeps going after her front has made contact. If anyone else has any tricks to build object/toy/food drive, please share!
