Since I got off early today (at 12:30), I decided it would be a perfect day to go to the movies and hide inside an air-conditioned theater. Im so glad I did! I saw Guardians of the Galaxy and Ninja Turtles (hides from Ri and Plude). Guardians was AMAZING. Ive heard a lot of people say its their FAVORITE Marvel movie thusfar. And while I wont say its my favorite, Im very fond of it. Love the action sequences, the story line, and I didnt know how much it actually DID build upon any previous MCMV, but I fully appreciated that as well.. Im excited to see these characters in more movies in the future and am debating about who to cosplay from it....(also looking forward to seeing it again in a few weeks, especially since I missed the first 10 minutes -_- ) TMNT - it has its highs and lows, really. Like anything that Michael Bay touches, it tends to have little to no story line. It wasnt horrific, but was really simple. I am NOT impressed in the LEAST that Megan Fox played April because she is not what I would picture April as. AT. ALL. And shes not even a red-head. I was pleased to see Kirai (sp?) in it and the few scenes in, it seemed like she was just sorta eye candy since it just usually zoomed in on her face. The turtles themselves...well. I liked that they made them different (like in the newer animated series), was particularly fond of how Raph looked (very fitting for his character), and how Donnie was a big ole nerd (with tech, etc.). I was a little turned off at first by Mikey (because hes my fave), but by the end of the movie I realized they took the whole surfer dude attitude to an extreme and was willing to accept it. But he annoyed the crap out of me. And coming from a Mikey fan, thats saying something! Shredder was unnecessary powered up and was damn near impossible for them to take down. It was a decent movie overall, but if youre an original TMNT fan...I would not advise seeing it in theaters. Wait until it gets released on Blu-ray/DVD, or just boot leg it. RIP Robin Williams. Im so heavy-hearted right now about the news. But, like movie stars past that Ive known and grown watching as a child (John Candy, Dom Deluise, and others....), I will recall on the fond memories and the times that he made me laugh. I will never forget that about him! (And how the Scots invented GOLF!)
