Since I have to work some weekends, I always make the effort to attend Church on the Sundays that Im off. I NEED the Word to help me face the upcoming week ahead. One thing that I truly appreciate about my Pastor, is his ability to convey scripture in his message, so that it can be applied to daily living. His text was taken from II Samuel 23. Nearing the end of his life, King David, one of the greatest Kings to have ever reigned, was sure to record and acknowledge the people who supported him. In that chapter, he named three mighty men in particular. The topic of the sermon was Life is a team sport, and these were the five key points on the subject. 1)The place to begin is to assign top priority to relationships. Far too often, people tend to dismiss the importance of sustaining good relationships and allow other things to overshadow and replace them. 2)Value the uniqueness of every person. How boring would life be if we were all the same? Although, we may share some of the same opinions, thank God for the differences. 3)Learn how to cultivate transparency. We have to willing to become vulnerable to others. Its a BLESSING to have real, true friends that you can be yourself with! 4)Genuinely care for people. Its humbling to be sincere. 5)Learn to express gratitude to others. PLEASE and THANK YOU still carry a lot of value!! Nothing like be blessed with the word of God to prepare you for whatevers in store for you ahead! Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
