Since I havent been to Pegasus for two weeks and wont be there next week either for holiday, I will post my weekly blog from two weeks ago :) You can find the full thing here howrsehanddandyguideandfreegraphix/#!adayatthepegasuscentreblog/cpc1 Last Updated~11/10/2013 Today, I arrived at the yard at 8.45am to start grooming the ponies needed for the 10am lesson. I groomed Coffee, Zak, Gillie and Corrie. I then started to groom Sisco to get ready for my lesson, at 9.30am. Had a great lesson, Sisco was feeling so good. I think she was a bit fresh after being clipped. I was a different story. The week before I rode Sisco, I completly forgot the leg aids to canter. The first attempt one rein, we just did a fast trot around the arena, then the second try, I managed to canter but in a completly different corner then we were supposed to. Poor Sisco, she must have been so confused. Bless her, she tries so hard for me. Today, though, I managed to canter a lot better then I did last week. First try I cantered a bit later than the corner I was told to canter in but tried in the next corner and got it On the other rein she went perfectly and I got it in exactly the right corner Havent done that for a while lol. Think Im getting my canter transitions back yey. Sisco was really forward going today, Im thinking its because she was clipped so she was feeling a bit fresh lol. Also done lots of trotting without stirrups again. Really like trotting without stirrups. Led gillie twice, then cheif, then Sisco, then Gillie again then someone else but I cant remember who Did some mucking out...although struggled with my first box for some reason then got into the swing of it at the end of the day. Lots of tacking up and sweeping today. Also took out Lilly and Zak out to the field. A great 8 hours to the day. Canter leg aids Using legs to steer the horse instead of using reins to much. ~Acheived Clear aids when cantering Try moving with the horse in canter Lower leg position when trotting with stirrups Trotting without stirrups Lower leg position without stirrups Second canter on left rein attempt Using legs instead of reins to guide horse to letter during diagonal line Being active in both walk, trot and canter Having Sisco on the bit and feeling when she is on the bit
