Since I posted the announcement of my relationship with Ronald White last week, I have had some questions about how we met. I just couldnt resist telling this story since it is pretty fantastic. Some of you already know this, since you knew us both! But for those who have only known me post school this is for you! Ron and I never really met we just kind of KNEW each other, since we both went to High school together. The same grade, 8-12 and graduation. We think we probably went to some parties together, and for sure had a few classes together, and we may have even had a conversation or two! But we never really connected deeper than that. Fast forward to 20+ years later. Both Ron and I find ourselves starting new at the Happy age of 42. Ron was living in Ontario, and me here in Vancouver. Ron found ME via FB. So this WILL be one of those wonderful stories of FB doing the good it CAN do, if used to do so. We both had been through some pretty trying times, and in 2013 we were BOTH in the process of rebuilding our lives. FB conversations were little more than friendly and supportive chats, with Ron informing me he would be moving back to Vancouver. We met once before he officially moved and still regarded each-other as friends - After Christmas 2013 when Ron had finally found himself home, we decided to hang out one night - and the rest, shall we say, is History. There was much more magic, and natural progression than I have space to adequately illustrate here - but I just felt compelled to share the general arc of this amazing and wonderful thing that happened to me. That happened to us. To all of our Byng friends who congratulated us, thank you! Some of you knew us both well, some only one of us. This is probably the Happiest and most Peaceful happenings Ive ever experienced that I really could not have anticipated EVER! Im graced with gratitude, healed with honour and blessed with beauty! IF I can share the lesson learned here? That year in between, where I learned the most about myself, went deep within myself and found some of the deepest pain, is the year that birthed some of the greatest Joy I have ever known. So dont be afraid of the dark, it will always be balanced with the light.
