Since I started crocheting over two years ago, it has brought me - TopicsExpress

Since I started crocheting over two years ago, it has brought me tons of joy and much needed stress relief. It has boosted my sense of creativity and brings me so much peace in times where I need it badly. Ive realized recently that I enjoy creating for others more than I do for myself, and it has always been in my nature and instinct to help and give to others who are in need. Whether it be a smile to a stranger or a few bucks to a homeless man on the street. So Ive decided to put my empathy to use in a way that I can also keep my creative juices flowing and my hands moving. I have lost numerous family members and others to a disease that Im sure every single person here has some sort of personal experience with as well. Cancer, in any way, shape, or form, is a ruthless disease. It has taken children, mother, fathers, grandparents, friends, and the like, and I have been caused great pain and loss because of losing someone near and dear to me like millions of others everywhere. I will be making hats and other items for any and all cancer patients free of charge. This is not limited to Maine but for those across the country and elsewhere as well. I am planning to have more info on my page The Woolly Whale, or a new page if need be. Though these items will be free of charge, I will be accepting donations to support the cost of materials and shipping. I will also be accepting donations for yarn from people who are not using it or that would otherwise be thrown away. Please share this post with your friends to help spread the word. If you or someone you know is In need of a hat, I am taking orders immediately. Also, I will be taking donations, especially yarn, starting today. I do have quite a stash of yarn but expect it to run out quickly. I can pick up your donations or they can be delivered or shipped. Thank you all for supporting this cause. Im extremely excited to get this idea up and running and helping those in need, and maybe putting a smile on the faces of those who need it.
