Since Im getting challenged by cessationists on Word of Faith issues (as I was Word of Faith myself), let me make it perfectly clear that I would gladly have a public debate with a qualified leader on whether the miraculous gifts of the Spirit continue to this day, according to the Scriptures. I have no desire to defend Word of Faith doctrine. That being said, I know there are many committed Christians within the Word of Faith camp along with some who embrace dangerous and even heretical teaching. As for my article on the Strange Fire conference, now shared more than 33,000 times on one website alone, the last concern I had in writing it was that the conference would hurt or hinder the work of the Spirit. Not a chance! To the contrary, my concern was for those who would be turned against the Spirits work by the conference, thereby missing out on much good for the church and the world.
