Since May 2012, Dr Bawumia has warning about how the economy is being managed. He constantly argued that the indicators were not matching up to the reality Ghanaians were going through. He was particularly concerned about the mismatch between inflation figures and prices of goods and its relationship with exchange rate etc. He prophetically declared in his May 2012 lecture that when you manage an economy with propaganda, the exchange rate will expose you. He was always insulted and called a Mallam Attah Economists by the babies with sharp teeth, he was labelled an empty barrel. Today we know the precarious situation of our exchange rate regime. The cedi is falling more faster than the Kintampo water falls. Inflation figures are proving real and matching up to the reality on the ground. The economy is collapse and labour agitations are very pronounced. Its sad situation in Ghana today. In all this, the affable, intelligent Dr. Bawumia stands vindicated and those who called him an empty barrel are fit for such description.
