Since Thursday, Ive had a number of calls asking for hair and make up tomorrow or later that day due to cancellations.I havent asked any questions as to why theyve had cancellations but told the person theyve booked has cancelled their booking. I have been booked up for this whole long Easter weekend since December last year and havent been able to take on any more work. My advice is book somebody reliable. Someone with a track record and good reputation. Pay over a deposit and keep in touch with your artist. Ask if they have a back up artist should their be any issues preventing them from turning up. Also consider this.... YES it is a bargain to get your hair and make up done from a lady who charges, £15, £25, £35 or whatever you consider cheap. Even if you know someone who has had them before. However also consider that this weekend is a peak date in which artists will MAXIMISE their income. So, if an artist takes a booking for three hairstyles but then gets a query for five hair and make ups, the cheaper artist is likely to drop the first job for the second job and without notice in most cases...especially if a deposit is not paid. An artist with good ethics and standards will not do this, whatever their charges. I have a standard. Its simple. I take advance payment in full for all hair and make up for non bridals (of which I rarely do now). Once paid, the booking is finalised by email and set in stone. I do not drop the job even if something better comes along. I have a fallback...that is Reena and Jital. Hope that helps. Nisha
