Since a lot of you have been writing about your memories of EAA, let me mention that I loved going to the Dar airport to watch the Dakotas take off/land. Those of you who have not seen one do so, the Dakotas rear wheel lifted off the ground first. And when parked, the aisle of the plane was at a steep (40degree?)angle to the ground. One really had to make an effort to climb in a stationary Dakota. In the 60s, people also found the time to go to the airport to see someone leave. Here is a home video from 1962. Notice the EAA staff carrying the baby to the plane? The baby would be returned to the mother after she was seated.
