Since every day in Delhi feels like Ive just finished a sweat lodge, a day at the semi-ac National museum was perfect. I followed the virgin Marys warning to not touch anything, (though there was plenty I wanted to) and its always a thrill to see the larger than life tiny Harappan girl and her little dog, looking pretty good at several thousand years old. Some of the galleries are newly installed with interesting colored walls that woke me up. In the gorgeous Sri Bharany collection were many wonderful miniature paintings, one with the best monkey ever, and another quite disturbing and beautiful at the same time, in this case, a wall label would have been helpful, but maybe better not to know.
