Since its Halloween I (Nicole) thought I would post something fun that has nothing to do with anything we sell. Every Halloween Michael Jacksons Thriller video is my go to. I have to watch it at least once every Halloween, as Im sure many other people do as well. Thriller is, after all, the most watched music video of all time with an estimated 4 billion people having seen it! I remember very well the first time I watched this video. Released in December 1983, it was not easy in those days to see a music video. There was no YouTube, no Much Music, and I doubt that Video Hits was on the air yet. My first viewing of this amazing music video/short film was while I was visiting my aunt in Calgary. She was my cool aunt, you know the one who doesnt have any kids of her own yet so she has the time and energy to do fun and cool stuff for her nieces. She had somehow obtained a copy of the video on VHS, or possibly even BETA. My sister and I sat, transfixed, in her living room watching zombies dance around (my favourite part) in complete amazement. I remember being a bit scared, after all I was just 8 years old and far less desensitized to gore than my kids are. Its one of those childhood memories that Im sure will stay with me my whole life. It was great, and I still love that video! So, here it is in all its 14 minutes of greatness! If anyone else would like to share a story about Michael Jacksons Thriller video, Id love to hear it!
