Since its initial release in 1984, the fundraising single “Do They Know It’s Christmas” has become a Yuletide tradition. For its 30th anniversary, Bob Geldof has once again enlisted a roster of UK and Irish pop royalty to participate. It’s the fourth version recorded overall. This time proceeds will go to raise money for Ebola relief. When the latest version was announced, Adele was rumored to be involved. Sadly, the “Rolling In The Deep” singer was nowhere to be found during the studio session. However, there were still plenty of stars who lent their vocals for the charity single. Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora, Sam Smith, Paloma Faith, One Direction, Emeli Sandi were just a few who donated their time. Veterans Bono and Chris Martin once again supported Geldof. They participated in the first version and Band Aid 20 respectively. I’m a little surprised Rita Ora received so much camera time and on the flip side, so little for One Direction and Sam Smith.
