Since leaving my position as a lead engineer with a large - TopicsExpress

Since leaving my position as a lead engineer with a large corporation to pursue a spiritual path I have spent much time in seeking a monastery to visit and dwell. There have been a few obstacles. My Southern Baptist Fundamentalist parents find it difficult to understand in that there is no monasticism within the Southern Baptist belief system. Most other religions see this as a fatal error for holding onto the truth. Some that know would say it has already been fatal for the Christian Fundamentalist such as they. I seek funding of this amount to pay for my expenses to travel to a monastery and stay as a bit of a hermit to heal from the years of corporate exploitation. I have found one that resonates with my belief system that is Buddhist. Please help in a small way or any way you may, (that may just be spreading the word kindly to those that may help). There is a Buddhist teaching that explains that there are generally 2 times in a mans life when a purely spiritual path may be appropriate (different ages for a woman often, but intent is similar). That would be between the age of 18 to 23 or so and generally in the 50s- an empty nest stage when there are none that require one to work like a dog for corporate greed. I am in the second category, there are none that require me to work because of their needs or requests. My son is self supportive and asks nothing from me and I have no wife any longer. I have helped others all my life with my teachings of engineering. Please help me heal.
