Since my news feed is full of people trying to protect themselves - TopicsExpress

Since my news feed is full of people trying to protect themselves from the social media network they are posting their lives on, (what?!?!) I thought I would look into the laws and statutes mentioned. (because I am a total geek with too much time on my hands) For those of you intent on protecting your posts and pics and shared material from Facebook, remember that if you dont allow Facebook to publish/share your posts, there is no point in posting. Nobody on your friends list would be able to see. Also, the latest I hereby declare statement, (goes something like Due to the fact that Facebook has chosen to involve software that will allow the theft of my personal information, I do declare the following) cites all kinds of fancy law - but none of it is helpful. Articles L.111, 112 and 113 of the code of intellectual property are French law. They dont apply unless you are French. UCC 1 1-308 – 308 1 – 103 is an American law, Uniform Commercial Code in fact. (all about commercial transaction in the United States – not helpful unless you are American and being paid for your posts/material.) The Rome Statute is all to do with the International Criminal Court, to prosecute individuals for genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and the crime of aggression. If anybody here can get Facebook up in front of the ICC, I will personally buy you a beer. Because I wanna see that.
