Since reconciliation means that God does not count mens sins against them and theat he made Christ to be sin for us in 2 Corinthians 5:18-21, part of the answer must be sin, which separates God and humans. This alienation from God and from his people found in Ephesians 2:12; 4:18, deepens into resentment, enmity as seen in Romans 5:10, increased by carnality hostile to God in Romans 8:7, expressed in rebellious wickedness: you were alienated . . . enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior found in Colossians 1:21. This total attitude of humans needs ot be removed.
