Since the Australian Federal Police have arrived in Papua New Guinea, they have been assisting our Royal Papua New Guinea Constibulary to improve and advise on police matters. The AFP has greatly increased their presence on the streets with senior officers even conducting foot patrols in the scorching heat, standing roadside monitoring road blocks. What the public need to understand is that they are not here to take over our national police jobs, but to advise and mentor to help develop best practice.
