Since the Transformation Ambassadors held their sensitization rally in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Senator Magnus Abes (of the famed year gas gun) social media mouth piece, Kennedy Friday is showing frantic signs of a heart attack . The young man has not rested since then. First, the night before he begins to spread news of Ebola, as if coming out of your house will have the virus jump on you . Then he realized that the Rivers State government was attending a massive burial ceremony for the former CTC chairman of Phalga, so that story couldnt fly. Ebola prefers even burials to political rallies. So that story couldnt fly and he had to change style . Then he immediately remembered that the last Presidential rally in Rivers State led to a stampede and people lost their lives . He brilliantly began to conjure up the dead and warned people not to attend the rally since people died the last time. He forgot that the last rally was actually organized by Governor Rotimi Amaechi and the lack of crowd control measures exposed their ineptitude in management . He realized he had ran himself into a dark alley. He scurried into superstition,alleging that the beneficiary of the rally was the cause since it was some kind of calamity which resulted as a spiritual omen to his non acceptability. Bright guy! Then the rally began and I presumed he glued to his TV set. As each speaker mounts the rostrum , hed attack either his grammar, accent or the way he wore his clothes. He was the biggest advertiser of that rally. My phone kept beeping from Facebook updates coming from him. Infact, if I was a member of the APC, Id have been forced to watch the rally on TV due to the unsolicited social media coverage granted it by my friend . Even hard core Jonathanians like Oraye St. Franklyn struggled for media space with Kennedy. When he noticed some governors didnt attend and sent representatives , his status changed to Akpabio shuns TAN rally, very smart politician. Akpabio was already looking like a progressive by his definition. Then the Bayelsa representatives comes up on the rostrum and it turns to Dickson shuns the rally .Another progressive in the making. This is how they recruit their progressives. Just pretend not to love Jonathan, youd get an ID card for being a progressive. When he saw the crowd , he alleged that Ifeanyi Uba brought them from Anambra state. When he heard that Anambra people were gathered at the same time endorsing Jonathan ,he changed several gears in minutes, attacking Okonjo Iweala, Governor Uduaghan and the man that gives them the creeps, Chief Nyesom Wike. (1) He alleged that Uduaghan lied about the East West road and Jonathans massive contribution to the road. Fact: The East West road was awarded in 2006 by President Obasanjo for a little above 200 billion naira. The road was awarded with only base line survey and this grossly affected the quantities on the bill.The road was billed to be competed in 2010. In 2009, Yardua created the Niger Delta ministry and the project was handed over to them. Up till 2010, the total sum released for the project was only 1.2 billion. As at when Jonathan became President, the road stood at 10% completion . President Jonathan ordered for an award for a fresh and more detailed design of the road, with the carriage ways increasing, and more bridges replacing culverts, while the size of the median was increased to reduce the fatality of accidents. In the new design, the quantities revealed that the total project will cost 349.87 billion almost double the amount before. From 2010 to 2014,the same four years period that 1.2 billion was released to the contractors with only 10% completion by previous regimes, a total of 248 billion has been released to the contractors by the Jonathan administration which resulted to a total 78% completion of the project. Section 1( warri-Kaima 87.4km) is 90% completed. Section 11( Kaiama -Port harcourt 101 km) is 52% completed . This section has the most bridges and culverts Section 111 and IV( Port harcourt - Oron) is 88% completed. 37 of the 41 bridges on the road are completed while 921 of the 1000 culverts on the entire stretch are also completed. In May this year, President Jonathan extended the road with about 26km of bridges and piles. The road billed to terminate at Oron will now extend to Calabar and connect new communities reducing Oron to Calabar to two hours. The contract have been awarded and contractors are on site. This section becomes section V of the road valued at about 116 billion due to the coastal nature and bridges on the route. (2) Kennedy attacked Dr.Iweala for lying on creating one million jobs. His question is, why are we so poor if you created one million jobs? Well, someone should tell him that wed still have four people if ten million jobs are created. Mr. kennedy belongs to the school which believes that government has created jobs only when they employ you into the civil device. Fact: Today agriculture has become the highest employer of labour in the country . The agriculture revolution has seen lots of young men owning farms as the e-wallet system has created a direct link to farmers as the corrupt middle men regime has been cut off. The introduction of You-win has galvanized the youths into job creators as young people are encouraged to set up small scale businesses. The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria ( MAN) has revealed that their business confidence index has increased by 19.0 in the third quarter of 2013. Within the period, the sector employed additional 549,304 people as against 760,149 it engaged in the first half of the same year. In total, the manufacturing sector engaged 1,309,453 million Nigerians in 2013. But Im sure, my friend will ask why people are still poor in the country. Keep asking while other youths are becoming job creators . My friend should know that TAN is just one, out of the many bodies working for Jonathan to come back. When you hear the voices of others, Im sure youd come over and join a quiet , performing and yet extreme humble President whom Grace and Fortune has clearly favored. Relax my dear friend and plan the next ward tour to Rumeprikom where another father might be inspired to shoot his son.
