Since the day you were born, youve been locked away in a prison, forced to work day in and day out. Everyday someone has told you when you can get up, when you can go to bed, when and what you can eat, what you can think, how you should think, what you should hope for, and where you can go within the confines of their prison. Something in you tells you this experience is dehumanizing, but youve seen what happens to those who refuse to be programmed. They are punished severly, sometimes even tortured to death. In your view, smart people avoid death at all costs. While in this prison you have children and you program them in the same manner. Within this prison, youve seen all kinds of mayhem. Youve seen people steal from each other, rape each other, mutilate each other, even kill each other all in the name of survival. Those who do the worst things to each other, in your experience have been given the biggest rewards by those running the prison. They get special meals, they get a little free time, they sometimes even are awarded with special nicknames in honor of their ability to keep the prison, a prison. Youve even participated in the decadence, as it has become a way of life. Magically, after years in prison, you and your children are released. You and your children havent had any psychological evaluation, havent had any therapy or rehabilitation. There is no program available to assist you with entry into a world outside of prison. No support to help you make the transition from a prisoner to a free-thinking person. No one to teach you how to live in a world where you are responsible for your own life. In this world no one feeds you, no one clothes you, no one provides your shelter. In this new world, no one tells you the secrets to success, but they exploit and take advantage of what you dont know. How can anyone expect you to do as well as the person who hasnt been confined mentally and physically? How can anyone expect you to behave like a psychologically healthy person when all youve experienced is trauma? How can anyone expect you to behave normally, when your existence has been completely abnormal? How can anyone expect your progeny to do any better when theyve been taught by you, a mentally and morally damaged human being?
