Since the loose skin is a huge issue with massive weight loss I - TopicsExpress

Since the loose skin is a huge issue with massive weight loss I want to share my experiences with you guys. When I was at the doctors office for my cold, I talked to him briefly about what can be done with the skin. He had referred me to a surgeon, and I sat with the surgeon as he wrote up the insurance claim, covering everything from how far the panniculus hangs to rashes and irritation resulting from the hanging skin. The insurance company wrote back that they felt it was cosmetic in nature and denied coverage. So my doctor told me the best course of action at this point is to find a lending company and borrow the money. Im gonna go back to my surgeon I guess and talk to him about it. See if sending another request, and another, and another if necessary would be worth trying. I dont have many problems with sores or rashes. The amount of money donated so far will help in the cost no matter what. Either pay my deductible if it comes to that, or travel expenses, pain meds, whatever else that may need to be covered. Im curious other folks who have had the procedure done after you lost the weight, what approach you took in covering the costs. Did you borrow? Save? Insurance? Other options? I think this could be really beneficial for a lot of people who are scared or worried about the loose skin and what can be done about it. I know its definitely a big concern for a lot of people.
