Since the majority of the people Ive seen posting their 10 Most Influential Albums are quite a bit younger than me, I thought Id give the old guys perspective. Would love to see your lists too. ~Crash Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood. My discovery of the Blues Van Halen - I. Hearing Eddie for the first time opened a whole new world Led Zeppelin - II. My introduction to rock thanks to a friends older brothers record collection Boston - Self Titled Debut. I went through three copies on vinyl alone Prince - Controversy. Being a Minneapolis boy, he was our Purple Yoda. Someone so different, talented and an intro into yet another new genre of music for me AC/DC - Back in Black. Junior year in high school. Still the loudest concert Ive ever been to. And it made me go back and find Bon. Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced. Again, thanks to a friends older brothers collection. Unbelievable to realize what Jimi was doing nearly 50 years ago Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction. A little later than the rest but I will never forget the first time I heard Welcome to the Jungle in the middle of the night on KQ in the Cities on the way home from a poker game. I felt like Jon Landau the first time he heard Springsteen. I had seen/heard the future of rock. Eagles - Hotel California. Joe Walshs addition to the band put them on my radar for the first time. They were my first concert, the day after my 15th birthday with Steve Miller Band and Pablo Cruise with 65,000 other people at the old Met Stadium in Bloomington, MN Little Feat - Waiting For Columbus. I didnt discover this disc until I was in college and Lowell George was unfortunately gone. I still think this is possibly the best live album ever, plus I got to get the JazzFest crowd to do the Feat open for them several years ago which pleased both me AND the band. Whats YOUR list look like?
