Since the news of Robin Williams passing I have felt heavy - TopicsExpress

Since the news of Robin Williams passing I have felt heavy hearted. By all accounts those of his colleagues and those who had met him in passing he seemed like a humble, kind, generous and loving man. I hope he can see the millions of people he brought happiness to from where he is now and to see how his singular life affected so many for good. I believe no one wants to ever find themselves in the position where taking their own life is their only hope for relief and release. I have refrained from remarking or posting anything on the recent news, but I feel it important to share this talk. In the world of Christianity suicide is so frowned upon and considered a sin with little forgiveness or hope, I have never felt this was accurate as I believe in a God who is merciful and who looks at the whole picture, the heart of each individual, their state of mind and their whole life and not just a moment or one event. Depression is such a crippling and paralysing illness, I hope with all the great minds we have on this earth we can continue to help all who suffer with this very real illness and all mental illnesses, whatever they may be. I am grateful for a God in Heaven who I believe is my Heavenly and First Father who loves with a perfect love and has a merciful and tender heart and welcomes his children home in a loving embrace. https://lds.org/ensign/1987/10/suicide-some-things-we-know-and-some-we-do-not?lang=eng&cid=facebook-shared
