Since this came up this morning and might come up again, please dont try to involve me in your schenfraude of recent attacks on peoples well being, in this case, the chemical incident involving the furry convention. Some people treat tragedy in different ways, and someone folks I know were immediately making jokes directly after the Aurora shooting, The Boston Bombing, and Robin Williams suicide, etc. And thats their call and I wont completely write them off as heartless jerks for their choices on what they consider funny or off-limit. I can easily understand making fun of tragedies in my subculture like Dashcon or dumb game publisher snafus, etc. since lives arent (literally) at stake and its, in my view, worlds apart than what transpired in Illionis. If the evidence of malicious intent is to be believed, a chemical attack on a furry convention is no different to me in tone than one on a normal public area, different country, or a game/anime convention. Its still (literally) people at harm in this case, and while I dont have any furry friends (at least that I know about), I would be concerned as anyone else if anyone I knew was at that venue over the weekend. If you want to make low-brow jokes, by all means go ahead, people have different standards for handling tragedy and whats on/off limits with comedy. But while the event is still very much current, dont berate me for not wishing to do so as well, please. Like 9/11 or any other tragedy that gets easier to make jokes about with time, this act will probably become easier to crack wise about, but as of right now, at this current moment, its just tasteless to me and I wish the best for the victims involved. tl;dr https://youtube/watch?v=-W_hcLXKp5w
