Since this is the week commemorating the 50th anniversary of JFKs - TopicsExpress

Since this is the week commemorating the 50th anniversary of JFKs assassination, it seems appropriate to recall details of that day. I was in the 3rd grade and wed been outside for phys ed in the early afternoon that Friday. A few of us stragglers back to the room were talking loudly and were surprised to be told sharply (by other students) to be quiet. It was then that we heard news of the shooting being played over the PA. Everyone was very quiet while listening for the last hour or so of the day, before we got on the bus for home. Over and over that weekend, I watched an hour bio of JFK (probably made for the 1960 election) that ran repeatedly on TV. Anyone else have specific recollections of that day? This NPR special, written and hosted by Robin McNeil, on past interviews with many who knew JFK certainly takes you back to those times (and earlier). weknewjfk.org/
