Since we are talking about living under Marxism; this is the most remarkable person I have ever personally met. Richard Wurmbrand was born a Jew in Bucharest, grew up in Ottoman Istanbul, became an ardent Communist as teen ager in the 1920s, went and studied Marxism in Moscow, returned to Romania as a Comintern agent to foment Communist revolution, instead converted to Christianity and became a Pastor, was sent to a labor camp by the Nazis for being a Jew, returned after the war and restarted his church. Christianity was outlawed by the Communist government in Romania, he started an underground church, as a former Communist who had studied in Moscow and was fluent in Russian he became very adept at converting Red Army soldiers to Christianity, was caught, imprisoned, they told him they executed his wife, they told his wife (who they had also imprisoned) that they had executed him, after years they were released and ransomed to the west. I knew him when he was in his 80s through the family he lived with in California. He was the real deal. One of the most profound stories I remember him telling was about the Romanian jailer who had the job of beating these Christian prisoners daily. After years of beating these men each day, demanding they renounce Christianity and none of them recanting under torture, one day the cell door opened and the jailer was thrown into the cell as a prisoner. After years of torturing these men to recant and none of them doing so, the jailer had finally concluded Christianity must be true. Yeah, lets talk about Marxism. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Wurmbrand
