Since we have new friends, heres a little summary of our story. We got Grimm at 8 weeks old. I was still in high school. He lived with my now-husband and his mother, brother, and sister. When he was 2, the city passed a law that banned pit bulls. Since he lived in the city, we could keep him but due to all the fees and the large amount of home owners insurance necessary, he had to move in with me and my family. He could no longer go on car rides, or even outside just to hang out even though we had a fence. His life changed and he became sheltered. But he also became my best friend. I have daily chronic migraines and he knows when Im having a surge of pain or other symptoms; he reads me like a book. Hes my nurse any and every time I need him, sometimes before I know it even. Ive been volunteering for 2 years now at a pit bull rescue. Seven months ago, we moved out of the city with a ban. Grimm gets to go places and be a dog again. After we moved, we began fostering pitties as well. Weve had three fosters adopted: Jingle, Tonka, and Socrates. We also foster failed with Adira, that means we adopted our foster. She was caught in a hunting trap and lost her paw but we managed to save her leg. One day, we plan on getting her a prosthetic paw. On this page, well post happy pictures and stories as well as some sad ones. Of course well show off Grimm and Adira; her name will be added to the page when it hits 10,000 likes because thats how the diva demands it. We also promote our rescue and the adoptable dogs they have. Once a year, we hold a big online auction and all money raised benefits the rescue.
