Singers- PLEASE stop being the Producer, The Arranger, The Engineer, the Anything that is not a singer! Give these professionals the respect they deserve by allowing their creative and technical expertise to flourish. Isnt that why you went to them in the first place. Look at the credits on Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, On and On- those singers never were credited for Song-writing, Producing, Engineering -they just sang-but wow did they sing. Please get your ego in check and try to never let your ego overshadow your project and place it into perpetual stall mode because you think you have better ideas than the professionals who actually know more about how to make a record with hit potential than you do! I hear about it and see it every day and it is very frustrating to the Pros I speak with from all over the world. Please do not drink the Simon Cowell Kool Aid! If you know better then the Producer than please build your own studio and cut your own tracks- otherwise just sing the song and give a magnificent performance. Allow the Producer to Produce,The Engineer to Engineer, The Arranger to Arrange and so on. To do otherwise is only making you look like a Jackass and killing your project!
