Single European Breakfast. In 1973 we joined a community. The purpose as far as I know was to make it easier for us to trade with our European neighbours. Today at the EU Committee on Agriculture we discussed, for the second time, a scheme which tells us what to feed our children for breakfast. Now obviously it is massively important that our youth eat a balanced diet but the place for that is at a far more local level whether that be a regional or local authority. However there is another equally important reason why the EU should not be lecturing us on what to feed our children for breakfast. That is because the same institution, through it policies on socialising bank debt, has actually contributed to children not having enough to eat for breakfast. So while the EU institutions cripple countries with banking debt leaving the children of the Union hungry it then sets up a highly centralised bureaucratic system for hand outs. This charity will come with the European flag emblazoned on the packaging. This scheme has far more to do with letting us know how wonderful the European Union than it has to do with sustaining our childrens health. If the European Union was really interested in our childrens nutrition then it would return the tens of billions robbed from us during the banking crisis. Then we could feed our children ourselves without handouts. The USSR took the power away from people to run their own lives. They called it communism. The EUSSR may have a different label but whats in the can is the same crap.
