Single, Sudanese and searching for a soulmate... Why has it - TopicsExpress

Single, Sudanese and searching for a soulmate... Why has it becoming increasingly hard for Sudanese girls to meet Mr Right and settle down? The most common reason would be that the ratio of men to women isnt equal, but is that really case? In a land where men have the option of having up to 4 wives, it doesnt deem to be a plausible excuse. Perhaps it could be that Sudanese men are looking for a certain type of woman? She has to be of a specific size, colour and I hate to say it, but with limited worldly experience! Or perhaps it could be because of family? As the Sudanese say, when you marry a man, you are also marrying his entire family; more terrifyingly, his mother! Yes, the dreaded mother in law, who will no doubt be making decisions about every factor of her sons marriage, from the wedding day, until the end of time. Most Sudanese girls would agree that finding a suitable suitor is hard due to economic strain. Unfortunately, inflation in Sudan has caused an already expensive occasion to become ridiculously extortionate. Most men arent finically prepared for marriage, well not unless they have won the lottery, or the son of a money launderer! And then there is the cousin issue. As Muslims Sudanese men can marry their cousins, even their first cousins. Most families prefer the idea of offering their sons to people they know, and already have established relationships with. What might seem like innocent games as child with a cousin, well it may lead to romance some where later down the line... And all this leads to where? A huge number of unmarried Sudanese girls over the age of 25! That might not seem old to westerners, but in much of the Arab world that is pushing it so to speak. And so, dont give up! dont let the factors that stand in your way knock you down...because somewhere out there your Sudanese soulmate is searching for you!
