Singles With Really Long Intros #13: Extreme - Rest In Peace - TopicsExpress

Singles With Really Long Intros #13: Extreme - Rest In Peace Nice intro, quite funny video, decent pop song. But the best thing about this is the start of Nuno Bettencourts guitar solo, from about 3:10 in the video. The brief acoustic version at the end wasnt part of the single but it serves as a reminder that by far the biggest of this unabashed rock bands nine hits was a gentle acoustic ballad, More Than Words, that featured only the singer and the guitarist. In this respect it belongs to a proud tradition of hit singles that exclude most of the band and are not typical of their style: Green Days Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) is the classic example, and then youve got your Plain White Ts with Hey There Delilah. You could also count Yesterday by The Beatles, on which only Paul McCartney appears, with his guitar (and a string quartet.) But bear in mind that Yesterday is the bane of those quiz goers who dont realise it was never a single in the UK, at least not when it was new and not while the band existed. Also youd hardly call it untypical. beggarscantbevegans.tumblr/ https://youtube/watch?v=odz3c68JE1c
