Sir, Mr siddaramayya chief minister The Govt. of Karnataka decided to start Ettinahole Project. Govt. says it won’t affect Nethravati River and will use only water of rainy season for 3months. Further govt says no damage for forest. 1. What is the guarantee that only for 3 months of water will be divert. Whether it is possible technically and legally. 2. Without damaging forest how the work will start? Whereas more then 500 acres of land is required. Is it possible to do without harming forest? 3. In case, flood water won’t divert to sea, it impact on fisheries, so what it the solution? 4. Eththinahole water is not enough to full fill the demand of Kolar, then govt will diverts other small rivers too like Kemp hole, Kadunane hole, Kumardhar etc. 5. Krishna II part, Varahi project and Hubli/dharwad water project failed. In case, the project also ends with same result, who will be held responsible and liable? Karavali people are not against to distributes the water among our own people. But we are against destroying one river and making trail for attempt to supply water from here. Which may result destroy of Nethravathi, but no water to Kolar? It is ashamed on part of Govt. that no meeting is called with Karavali people, activist, and other social leader in this regard. Without any courtesy the govt is riding on people of Karavali. And elected representation is more self interested then river of the district. We oppose till justice will come out.
