Sir Robert is supporting Energy UK’s ‘My Energy Credit’ - TopicsExpress

Sir Robert is supporting Energy UK’s ‘My Energy Credit’ campaign that aims to spread awareness about money that might be owed to consumers from their previous energy supplier. British Gas, EDF Energy, E.ON, Npower, SSE and Scottish Power are taking part in the campaign. It has been estimated that around 3 million energy consumers may be owed repayments of around £50, after moving house, switching supplier or from unclaimed credit following the closing of an estate if a relative has passed away. Customers can apply for their credit repayment regardless of when the account was closed as long as there is proof they were a former customer. Commenting, Sir Robert said: Switching energy suppliers can help people to get a better deal, helping to save money on their energy bills. But it is important that unclaimed credit isn’t forgotten about. On average, customers have remaining balances of £50 after switching or moving home. I would encourage constituents in the North East to contact My Energy Credit if they think they may be due a repayment. Customers can check whether they are owed money and can claim any credit repayments due by visiting myenergycredit, by calling the My Energy Credit helpline on 0370 737 7770 or by writing to: My Energy Credit freepost address: Freepost RTHL-ZYBU-KBCC My Energy Credit 47 Aylesbury Road Thame OX9 3PG
