Sir Stuffington and Henriette are two kittens who have a remarkable story! They came to us without a mother, and with severe cases of conjunctivitis - we normally treat this with antibiotics, but in these cases, our team tried something a little different. We were worried that they might lose their sight due to the severity of the infection, so we enlisted a cat named Jacko for help. With a blood donation, we developed a serum to help the kittens with antibodies. Normally, wed inject this serum into pets that need maternal antibodies, but in this case, a dedicated volunteer fostered the kittens and treated them with serum drops in their eyes every two hours. The infection cleared up VERY quickly, and were happy to report that Jacko was adopted the same day he donated, and both Sir Stuffington and Henriette are undergoing spay/neuter surgeries, and will be available tomorrow!
