Sir, We Would See JesusBrother Branham preached late Sunday night at the Tabernacle, then traveled more than 750 miles to New York, where he would preach a series of seven sermons in six days at the Rock Church in New York City starting today. It was a Pentecostal church back then, pastored by Brother John Vick. Also present was Brother Joseph Mattson Boze, associate of Brother Branham and pastor of the Philadelphian Church in Chicago. The Rock Church is still in operation at the same location. Here are a few quotes from “Sir, We Would See Jesus.” We know something has to give away, the world is under too much tension. And there is something wrong. Everyone knows that. And I--I believe that we are facing some great thing, and I believe, with all my heart, that its the second Coming of the Lord Jesus. And I trust that He will pour out His Spirit upon us, and will reveal to us the things that we should do to be prepared for His Coming. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And I believe that every Christian should be reflecting the Life of Christ. He said, in Saint John 14:12, He that believeth on Me, the works I do shall he do also. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now we find that the first church did represent Him, as written epistles, His Life lived through those people. I cant compare our church today. As--as hard as it is to say this, as much as I love people, yet youve got to be honest and tell the Truth. I cant say that we see, in the churches today, reflecting Christ in the way that those people did. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And thats the way those disciples were. They, they knew that they had been around Jesus, because they talked like Him, acted like Him, and healed like Him, and every answer was like Him. They was inspired like Him, and they knowed that He was living in them. Thats what we should be all the time, as believers. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, thats where well find Him. Thats where the church will find Him. We wont find Him in lectures. We wont find Him in entertainers. We wont find Him in the way we dress, or the denomination we belong to. Well go back to the Day of Pentecost, where He came into the church, and there is where well find Him. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So we must remember that Christianity is not pushing ahead, and trying to get ahead of this fellow, but stepping back and taking the back seat, you see, letting the other fellow go on, thats--thats Christianity. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Because, it was the prophet that the Word of the Lord came to, him, and him only. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But what Im trying to say, were trying to find that Person, Jesus. Thats the Person were trying to find. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And everywhere God is, supernatural takes place, because He is supernatural. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now were referring to what Jesus said to take place at the end time, just before His Coming. Now, remember, the Sodomites were Gentiles. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And thats what were looking for today, a promised Son. And before that promised Son arrives, the elected Church is to see God manifested in the flesh, telling the secrets of the heart, and knowing the things I done. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.
