Sisters and brothers on Oct. 17 Congress will have to decide to raise the Debt Limit past 17 trillion dollars. To pay this our Gross Domestic Product would have to grow to 5%. It is presently lower than 2%. It is growing anytime soon either. Considering the disrespect that the Republican led House has for the POTUS, There is a slight possibility they may reject increasing the debt limit. Based on this evident reality, My long term investments are once again in protection mode. Shorts and Put (investments that grow when the market goes down) sales are growing. The VIX which measures fear and is also a tradable instrument, has spiked upward. My recommendation is you follow suit until after the 17 th. Because if they reject the increase, like the health care budget. Look out. They are playing with fire while wearing gasoline soaked underwear on. IJS
