Sittin here working on John Prines material again this morning. My God man, as I write the lyrics down,(I do that because it helps me remember them, I dont use a I-pad or a song book), then, when I sing these songs, play the chords, I can truly feel the power in this music. Of coarse Im putting tens of hours in to learning and perfecting these songs. I want to give these songs the respect they deserve when performed. You can not hack up a John Prine song! I will only get to play these on occasion, unfortunately. They are not the norm so to speak. It is not your favorite Buffett song or Red Solo Cup by Toby Keith which I have always refused to do, I just aint gonna do it! But for those who are not so immersed into the 250 songs that commercial country radio plays over and over again, about getting drunk in your pick up truck, these songs by Mr. John Prine are life changers. These songs define the art of song craft!
