Sitting eating dinner. Little girl waiting for her mom stands by my table watching me. And smiling. And watching. Finally I ask her if shed had a long day. She smiled and nodded yes, then quickly looked for her mom(good attachment!). Her mom finished their purchase and she patted the table next to me, saying Mom, I want to sit at this table! We ate in silence but every time I looked up, she smiled. I told her mom she was a cutie and that we had exchanged pleasantries earlier. I asked her she liked school and she nodded yes and the asked about my children, wanting to know how old they were. I told her about my baby and my god babies. I told her to do well in school and be sweet. She was white. I am brown. There was no fear. Just curiosity and kindness. As it should be. Hope. We all need hope for tomorrow. Be kind to one another. Its just the right thing to do.
