Sitting here thinking about my mother and my childhood I remember being pinched by her if I didnt hold a door for a lady, offer to carry a ladys( especially elderly) bags or groceries and not saying maam, please and thank you. TODAY I never walk in a door without looking to see if someone is coming in behind me, I often ask a lady carrying something heavy if she needs help and even at my age I never use swear words in the company of elderly people or forget my manners. Ladies even if there is no man around, you can instill things into your sons CHILDHOOD that he can carry right into MANHOOD.
