Sitting in Alans backyard, 2007. Like others have said, you could always reconnect with him no matter how much time had passed. We were friends when we were both students in 1966-67. I hadnt seen him at all for 25 years (not since 1975) until year 2000 when he called to say if I was coming to the reunion (which he was one of the organizers of) I could stay at his house. And we picked up where we left left off like it had just been last week. Over the next decade I came back up to visit him a couple times & he also came stayed with me in Brooklyn & we would occasionally speak by phone. Im so grateful to have reconnected with him in this later stage of our lives.
