Sitting in a cage at Brooklyn ACC, 8 year old Gizmo has wondered why his people haven’t come for him. He’s small, adorable, and sweet—why would somebody not want him? Perhaps his people couldn’t or wouldn’t handle Gizmo’s pretty serious medical issues. He’s got cataracts forming, skin issues, a heart murmur, and most serious, some sort of issue affecting his testicles. And to make things even worse, he’s already caught the shelter “cold”. So Gizmo needs to get to a really good vet asap to not only treat that “cold” but to take a look at his other issues and come up with a plan. But ACC has other plans for Gizmo—they’ve got him on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. There is no formal behavioral eval but both the medical staff and the person who found him say Gizmo is a friendly, quiet little guy who walks well on a leash and who gets along with any new people he meets. Tonight, Gizmo’s needing to find that special person who is ready to be there for him no matter what; someone who can get him vetted, someone who can treat him like the good little guy he is, someone who will let him take over their lap and take him on leisurely strolls around the neighborhood. Is that you? Then step up to foster or adopt Gizmo. And if you can’t take him in, considering pledging towards the medical care he needs. But do it quick—ACC has written Gizmo off and tomorrow, they’ll make him gone.
